Today we decided to drive all the way to Makena beach to check out “turtle town” AKA “turtle beach.” It was an hour drive one-way. We were out of the condo by 8:00 AM. The day was sunny and I could tell it was gonna be a hot one. We found a spot in the Makena lot and hoofed our stuff down to the beach and set up camp. We saw one turtle by the rocks and swam for 45 min before taking a break for water and snacks. Back in for another 30 min but we tired and hungry. Packed up camp and headed to Kihei for lunch at DaKine Express.
I got loco moco, Brit got a burger and fries, Jessa got a chicken burger, and Marc got a Kalua pork sammich. Lunch was $60. My loco moco was huge, I could only eat 1/4 of it. The beef patty had to be an inch thick! One of my yolks was overcooked but oh well.
Then we drove back to Napili to cool off and swim. The beach was so hot… We lucked out and got a spot right by the walkway but it was crowded and windy and our umbrella kept blowing away. We went swimming and stayed in forever. Jessa and Marc were overly pink and even Brit was a little pink despite my spraying them down with sunscreen every hour!

We went back to the condo and I made roasted potatoes and brussels sprouts and teriyaki fish. The fish was so good and tender. Britney ate her pizza cuz Britney.

After dinner we went to a free Hula show at the Lahaina Cannery Mall. The show was really good! They had hula dancers of all ages including a four-year-old keiki. At the end of the show, Britney and Marc got chosen from the audience (of course they did) to go on stage and hula. I said to Jessa, thank god they didn’t choose me and she said, I know. Being overlooked is fine by me. Brit and Marc were each paired with the person who had chose them and they had to follow what their partner did. They did a good job!

Then we walked around the mall and the girls did some shopping with the money that Roseanne gave them. We stopped at an ABC store for aloe vera gel and a “naughty” postcard the girls picked out for grandpa. We watched TV and went to bed at 11:00.
