Maui Day 7

We “slept in” until 9:00 AM. Tried to go to D.T. Fleming beach but it was too choppy to snorkel. Went to Kapalua and the lot was full. Back to our tried-and-true favorite, Napili. By 11:30 it was already getting too warm out. We packed up and went to Maui Tacos for lunch. I had grilled fish tacos, Brit had a bean/beef/cheese burrito, Marc had BBQ pork taco combo and Jess had a chicken burrito. The pineapple salsa was delish! Lunch was $40.

Showered at the condo and then headed out to Surfing Goat Dairy, one of our favorite places in Maui. It was an hour drive inland and hot out there! Brit and I took the 30 min. tour and got to feed the goats, but we didn’t get to hold any goats or milk them like Marc and I did on our last tour.

We did a goat cheese tasting and Brit worked up the courage to try some. Unfortunately, the first one she tried was just plain goat cheese. She made the most awful face and declared it the grossest thing she’s ever eaten.

During the tour my legs felt like they were burning and we were glad to get in the shade where the tables were. Marc and I finished off the goat cheese platter and we all had iced tea and lemonade. A sweet, creamy kitty managed to seat himself on both mine and Marc’s lap before deciding he liked Jessa best of all.

Sweet kitty loved Jessa best.

On the way to Lahaina Cannery Mall, Britney said she felt terrible: headache, sore throat, back and neck pain. I suspected she was dehydrated and hoped she wasn’t coming down with the flu. I told her to drink a bunch of water. We got to the mall and she had an anxiety attack and she called her mom for some emotional support. I talked to Shawna after and we agreed it was probably too much heat and sun and not enough fluids. I felt bad that she felt so bad…

We went to the grocery store and I bought everything I could think of that might make her feel better. We got to the condo and I made her drink a bunch of Gatorade then had her soak in a cold bath. Tucked her into our bed and she slept for 3 hours. She got up and said she felt a lot better. We watched Admission with Tina Fey and then did a McDonald’s run since Brit hadn’t eaten dinner with us.

The wine is for me LOL.

Go on the next part of the journey!
